What's On Our Needles

Pattern: Philippa by Melissa Leapman

Yarn: Haunui Silk and Rittou by Noro

The balloon sleeves are the fashion statement in this easy-fit sweater. The pattern uses Haunui Silk as the main yarn and incorporates Noro’s new yarn, Rittou, into the slip stitch pattern on the sleeves and tipping around the neckband.

There are several of us who are working on this sweater and it is alot of fun and is going very well! If you would like to join us, stop by soon to get your yarn.

Pattern: Sibella Scarf by Carrie Bostick Hoge

Yarn: Inka by Mirasol

Fingering weight Inka with its beautiful halo is the perfect yarn for this lacy scarf. It will be light but cozy and the alpaca in the yarn makes it soft on the skin.

Pattern: Filigree Tunic by Rosemary Drysdale

Yarns: Ohajiki by Noro

Constructed from two rectangles, each knitted in a four-row eyelet pattern, the simple shape traces the shoulders thanks to the supple mesh fabric. Deep side vents complete the look. This would make a great swimsuit cover-up!

Pattern: Drumblebee Socks by Virginia Sattler-Reimer

Yarns: Practically Perfect Sock by Emma's Yarn

This smart looking sock design is hard to put down, it has that “just one more repeat” quality and a lovely fit! Socks are a great summer project - they are small to pack for travel and won't make you hot while you are knitting them.

Pattern: Attabi Scarf by Nina Holubcova

Yarn: Iridescence by Juniper Moon Farm

From Ravelry.com:

The simple woven geometry of tabby cloth is scaled up to add texture to a classic scarf. The Eyelet Woven stitch is made up of an easy-to-remember repeat of knit & purl stitches, yarn over increases and decreases. The scarf starts with a ribbed border that flows seamlessly into the Eyelet Weave stitch. The ribbing is mirrored on the opposite end of the scarf for a symmetric scarf.

Thanks to Cheryl Gilmore for sharing her beautiful scarf with us!

Pattern: Gradient Lights by Laura Dobratz

Yarn: LYS Party Kit by Emma's

From Ravelry.com:

Gradient Lights is a top down triangular shaped shawl. While knitting sections of texture and lace you will gently fade from one color to the next resulting in a stunning transition from light to dark.

This shawl was knit and modeled by our friend Cheryl Gilmore.

Eco Bag

Eco Bag by KFI Collection is crafted from 100% recycled fibers and includes a pattern, wooden tag and beads. This yarn is must-have for eco-conscious individuals, Each ball is composed of 10 beautiful colors!

New Noro Yarn

From Noro.comOhajiki is the name of a traditional Japanese children's game similar to marbles, but played with flattened, coin-shaped pieces of ceramic, glass, or sea glass, and comes in various colors. The colorways for Ohajiki are reminiscent of how the game pieces look with light passing through them. Each ball embarks on a color journey of happiness & reminds us of the simple pleasures of childhood. Ohajiki is a timeless blend of Cotton, Silk, Wool, & Viscose. An excellent choice for tops, shawls, summer dresses, and beyond!

From Noro.comRikka is a voluminous yarn and a typical Noro blend of Merino wool & Corriedale, combined with the softest Peruvian alpaca, and undyed mulberry silk. The yarn and the finished knitted fabric appear to be covered with a touch of white. It seems as if you are looking at a landscape that has been surprised by a frosty night or a sudden snowfall. (which is the meaning of Rikka in Japanese "snow crystal")

New Emma's

Let's start a new "fade" with this beautiful trio from Emma's Yarn. These three colorways work so well together and would make an amazing sweater or shawl! Our friend Bridget Borne is using these three in her new project, Gradient Lights Shawl.

What's On Our Needles

Pattern: Brioripple Wrap by Stephen West

Yarn: Smalliday Kit by Emma's Yarn

From Ravelry.com:

The Brioripple Wrap features wavy bands of two-color brioche and reverse stockinette stripes. The background of each brioche section features two strands of West Wool Glowhair held together in the same color for a soft and fluffy effect. The foreground brioche colors and reverse stockinette stitch stripes are knitted with one strand of fingering weight wool. This project is a great stashbuster to use leftover fingering weight yarns or mini skeins.

Feel free to customize your brioche color combinations however you like as you create a uniquely striped fabric. The size of this wrap is easy to customize. Simply bind off early after any brioche section for a shorter length or continue to knit the wavy pattern repeats as recommended for a long dramatic wrap.
